Khadr's lawyer claims abuse
Omar Khadr's military lawyer, Navy Lt. Cmdr Bill Kuebler, talks about why the Toronto detainee needs an independent psychological examination. The prosecution has offered to have him evaluated by military doctors but Kuebler contents that since Guantanamo physicians were once involved in planning Khadr's interrogations, outside doctors are necessary. Omar Khadr talks to lawyer
Edmonton lawyer Dennis Edney has represented Omar Khadr along with Nathan Whitling since the Canadian teenager was captured. Spending thousands of their own savings, the Canadian lawyers have fought and won a various court challenges including a Supreme Court case that ruled that Canadians acted illegally by interrogating Omar Khadr in Guantanamo. Here, Edney speaks from Guantanamo about spending an afternoon with Omar. August 13, 2008.

Omar Khadr back in court
Michelle Shephard reports from Guantanamo Bay before a pre-trial hearing in August 2008. The Pentagon first charged Khadr with war crimes in November 2005. His charges have been thrown out twice, three different military judges have presided over his case and three separate U.S. military defense teams have represented him. His trial was delayed again and is now set to begin Jan. 26, 2009.
